About

The IWSS Library contains material relating to domestic violence, sexual abuse and other social issues and services to women, children and young people of non-English speaking backgrounds.  There is an emphasis on cross-cultural communication and counselling, multiculturalism, feminism, health care and legal issues.  This material consists of books, periodicals, articles, reports, conference proceedings, videos and audio cassettes.  There is also a series of country profiles with general background information and articles on topics such as religion, migration, social and cultural practices and women's issues.

As well as the main library collection which is housed in the Sexual Assault Program building, there is a collection of material housed in the Coordinator's office in the Domestic Violence Program building.   Although much of this material is related to domestic violence issues, there is also a significant collection of material dealing with issues of housing, refuges and shelters, including many SAAP publications.

The library is staffed by a Librarian on Tuesdays from 9am to 1pm.
