IWSS extends its services providing information, resources, and community education and training to community groups and service providers across Queensland.
These services include:
- Resources and information including information in community languages and English.
- Community education on issues of domestic and sexual violence.
- Service development and training specific to your service needs. Some of the topics the Domestic Violence Program can address in professional training include:
- Role of IWSS Services;
- Working with Interpreters;
- Cultural Sensitivity;
- Cross-cultural Communication;
- Responding to Domestic Violence;
- Identifying and Addressing Barriers Experienced by Women from NESB; and
- Improving Access and Equity to Women from NESB.
- Access to a specialist library and resources, country profiles on various countries, and books including up-to-date information on relevant and current issues for women and their children from NESB affected by domestic and/or sexual violence.
- Cultural information, support and debriefing available to workers who are providing services to women and their children from NESB.
